Why Marathon Physical Therapy?
Our commitment is to provide superior care through the latest and most effective, soft tissue, myofascial release, and joint mobilization techniques. Our emphasis is on education of the patient, so there is an understanding about self-management of
the current condition or injury. We will try our best to understand what is important
to the patient and with that in mind, benefits and risks of specific activities/exercises,
will be discussed in order to hasten recovery, prevent relapses and ultimately to maximize the potential for recovery and return to pain free activities. We will help
you get better.
Our Focus
Helping this patients return to their highest level of function, both at home and at work with the least amount of discomfort—and safe from the risks of re-injury.
Physical Therapy is the art and science of eradicating or easing pain and improving bodily function by direct physical means, both hands-on and conservative modalities through therapeutic exercises without the use of drugs.
Our Methodology
Modalities, such as heat, ice, ultrasound and electrical stimulation to the muscles are just a few of the more common methods for reducing pain. We also use hands-on skilled treatment techniques, exercises and positioning.
Decreasing the pain is important in interrupting the pain cycle. If this can be interrupted sufficiently, it not only can help the patient be more comfortable but can also reduce the resulting muscle spasms.
There are a vast number of therapeutic exercise approaches and techniques available to Physical Therapists (PTs) for correcting the underlying causes of pain. It is a matter of finding out what works for that person and their body to get the results needed.
